Planning an escape into the wild comes with practical questions. We have compiled everything you need to know about gear, skill levels, safety, and booking policies so you can prepare for your journey with total confidence.
Our cabins feature high-end linens, a fully equipped minimalist kitchen, eco-friendly bath products, and a private wood-fired hot tub. While completely off-grid, they feature reliable solar electricity and running hot water.
We intentionally do not provide Wi-Fi to encourage true disconnection. Cell service varies depending on the cabin location, but a satellite-linked emergency communication device is provided in every dwelling for absolute safety.
Outpost Canopy provides all major technical equipment, including ultralight packs, tents, sleeping setups, rafts, and life jackets. You only need to bring personal clothing, appropriate footwear, and your sense of adventure. A detailed packing checklist will be sent to you upon booking.
No prior experience is needed for our survival courses, cabin stays, or beginner-level river runs. For our backcountry treks and advanced rafting trips, a moderate level of physical fitness is recommended. We can always customize private trips to match your exact physical comfort level.
We operate rain or shine, as our gear is top-tier and designed for the elements. If severe, unsafe weather causes us to cancel an expedition, you will receive a full refund or rescheduling credit. For guest-initiated cancellations, we offer full refunds up to 30 days before your reservation date.
All guided expeditions and training courses launch from our main basecamp headquarters in Asheville, North Carolina. Precise coordinates, arrival times, and parking instructions will be emailed to you two weeks prior to your trip.
